Job Fair Empowers Clark County’s Older Workforce

A job fair was held on Wednesday, July 12 at the USS downtown location in Clark County. The event was specifically geared towards providing purposeful and flexible employment opportunities for the older workforce.
More than 20 local employers participated, making it an excellent opportunity for the more than 120 job seekers in attendance. Approximately 90 percent of those who attended were 55 years old or better.
USS and Springfield Community Navigators were the sponsors of this job fair. Both organizations are dedicated to supporting Clark County’s older adult population during transitional times in their lives. The event was open to all and offered free admission.
In addition to catering to the older workforce, the event featured several warehouse and manufacturing employers who also had openings suitable for a younger demographic.
The job fair provided a valuable platform for face-to-face interactions between employers and job seekers, enabling them to establish contacts in the local job market.
