Support Services

Help Where and When It's Needed Most

Made possible by a grant from the Mental Health Recovery Board of Clark, Greene & Madison Counties.

USS is a contract organization of the Mental Health Recovery Board.

Support Services provide professionally led support groups to help navigate life changes, companionship to socialize with peers, and educational workshops that support all aspects of aging well.

Social Support Group

With advancing age and life changes, social connectedness becomes increasingly important. The ability to cope, positive feelings of self-worth, and remaining engaged are all instrumental in maintaining a high quality of life. This support group assists participants who are at risk of isolation and loneliness to socialize with their peers and build a network of support and friendship. Fun activities and educational programs are offered at USS centers and throughout the community on a regular schedule. Transportation to activities is available.

Health Education

Evidence-based educational programs designed to support successful aging are offered regularly at USS. Available workshops include successful aging programs with tips and resources for enjoying our gift of longevity, Healthy Living-Chronic Disease, Pain Management, and Diabetes Management – designed to manage chronic conditions from a holistic perspective, and Matter of Balance workshops to improve core strength and identify possible fall hazards.

Wellness Support

Therapeutic support is available for people experiencing challenging circumstances, including compromised independence, chronic conditions, caregiving for a loved one, grief, and more. Ongoing support groups include caregiver support group, Diabetes support group, and stroke support group. Other groups are introduced as needs are identified.
