Older Americans Day

Join us on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the Clark County Fairgrounds for an Older Americans Day celebration! Tickets are available for purchase at the Welcome Desk at USS Downtown or by calling 937‑323‑4948. Tickets are $5.00 and may be purchased with cash or check before April 24, 2026. Beginning at 9:30am, attendees can enjoy a resource fair where Clark County agencies and businesses that serve seniors will be on hand to provide information on their services, lunch, award presentations, and a variety of raffle and door prizes.

Event Schedule

  • Doors Open for the Resource Fair: 9:30 AM (Arts & Crafts Building, Clark County Fairgrounds)
  • Lunch Begins: 12:00 PM
  • Proclamations and Awards Presentations: 12:30 PM
  • Copies of the USS 2025 Annual report available on lunch tables

USS and the Area Agency on Aging (AAA) celebrate the contributions that older adults make to our community by nominating them for 3 awards. The AAA 2026 Outstanding Senior Citizen Award is presented to one resident of Clark County selected by a committee of Senior professionals. The award winner is announced at the Older American’s Day event for Older Americans Month on the AAA website and summer newsletter.

The USS annual awards are Excellence in Leadership & Inspirational Service. USS award winners are announced at our annual Older Americans Day luncheon. We encourage everyone to consider individuals who have made significant contributions to the Clark County community for these awards.

Award Nominations

To nominate an Older American for any of the three awards described above, please complete the 2026 Nomination form linked below. Return this form to USS, Attn: Tracy Wickham, 125 W Main St, Springfield, OH 45502 or scan and email to twickham@ussohio.org. All nominations must be received by Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
